The Great White Discovers France

Tuesday morning David, Stephen and I launched in the 'Great White' for a petit tour of France. Our first stop was Paris. We spent Christmas Day there. Wednesday we walked all around and showed David the major sights of Paris: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the best Kebab place in France...we did alot of walking. We also planned and bought our food for Chirstmas day. Christmas morning I woke up to some awesome smart wool socks...(they're argyle!) and a comfy, fuzzzy white pull over from David. A sweatshirt that I ended up wearing just about everyday ofter that. We all made crepes together. In the afternoon we went out and walked up to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. In the evening we came back and made a salmon dinner, complepte with rice, broccoli and fresh bread. We bought a few desserts too. We made amazing food, it was so good!
From Paris we headed North, to the Beaches of Normandy. It was beautiful up there. Similar to the Oregon Coast...it was sobering though because of all the WWII history. I was very glad to see it all though. We had beautiful weather up there. Crystal clear skies every single day!
From the town of Caen we headed to Rennes, a little bit further inland. On our way we stopped at Mont St. Michel, quite beautiful. We found some pretty impressive buildings in Rennes, government buildings, all lit up. We were really on a search for food and our hotel there, we couldn't find either. Being Sunday, everything was closed, which made it hard to buy food. Eventually we found a little international food market open, a little convenience store. So we bought some beans and tomates and avocado and, with the use of the camp stove (thank you Stephen), we were able to have beans and rice and tomato and avocado. It was such welcome food.
From Rennes we headed southeast towards Blois, Orleans, Montargis, Macon and eventually Geneva. We stopped in Blois and walked around a bit. We also got some pizza there. Once we got in the car we just couldn't stop. So we made all the way back to Geneva by midnight. A nice warm bed waiting our arrival...aaahh
