The Matterhorn

When one is so close to the Matterhorn, one must go see the Matterhorn. So Saturday, that's exactly what me and Stephen did. We went to see the Matterhorn. Some what of a spontaneous decision, but it was a good one, because we had an amazing day...

We did get to see the summit, but there were always clouds around it. It didn't really matter though, it was quite amazing. Afterall, nothing really MATTERS when you're in plain sight of the MATTERhorn...

The little, all-walking village of Zermatt

There it was...we saw it...The Matterhorn

The classic 'Matterhorn Shuttle', yes, it is the one you see in all the pictures:)
We actually tried to drive into Zermatt...apparantly you're not supposed to do that. We got stink-eye from many an all-wheel taxi driver.
...We wondered why the road was getting so narrow...
We also enjoyed some Cailler chocolote on our way to the Matterhorn. The perfect place to enjoy Swiss chocolate!

It was a beautiful drive, a beautiful day with big poofy clouds and green, green landscapes. Everything was in bloom and the fields were really green, a nice, knew crop coming on. In fact, there was alot of wheat and barely, very reminiscent of home! So, I gave Stephen a lesson on the difference between barely and wheat. Yes, holding true to my Palouse roots, you'd all be proud!
