Bells, Bliss and everything but Boredom

Whew...
My friend Kathleen got married this past weekend. Wedding bells chimed, everyone was blissful and yes, we, the wedding party, planned a bachelorette party. Everyday was full of things to pick up, appointments to make, things to plan, events to attend, flowers to arrange, tables to decorate and people to see and meet.
The wedding went so smoothly, not a glitch in the entire ceremony. It took place in the park, in the evening. Friends had taken time and money to contribute to the occasion.
Thursday I spray painted baskets for the tables, Friday we got our nails manicured and our toenails pedicured. We rehearsed at the park and figured out logistics of the weekend. Saturday we decorated some rather racey cupcakes for the bachelorette party. We picnicked with the families in the park and then prepared for the classy dance party that had been planned for the bridal party. We danced, danced and danced and enjoyed celebrating with the bride and groom. Part of the bridal party's obligations is to embarrass the happy couple, just a little bit. I think we succeeded at that too:) There was good music, games and party food. We all went to bed a little bit later that evening, even though we had to be up pretty early the next day. The day started early, hauling decorations to the wedding site, sweeping out the reception area and setting up tables and unwrapping candles and arranging centerpieces etc...  We had a brief break for brunch at T. Mac's and then the real fun began. The wedding party took off to purchase some essentials for the bride and groom (hehe). I got my hair pinned and curled (whew, I think there was a whole sheet of bobby pins in my hair!). We ran around and purchased last minute decorations, ivy and glitter. Then we put our dresses on, made-up our faces and smiled for the camera. It wasn't too long and we were standing up front, dressed to the nines, witnessing the marriage of Jon and Kathleen. We celebrated at the reception. Swayed to amazing jazz musicians and enjoyed delicious, impressive, homemade wedding cake. The toasts were sweet and the company was pleasant. We took a little time to decorate the car appropriately, writing helpful things on the windows and hanging helpful things off the back of it. Before I knew it, the boquet had been tossed, the garter had been retrieved (with his teeth...is that tradition?!) and Jon and Kathleen were on their way out.

It was quite the wedding...
