Dance Party

Last week about this time, my roomies and I were sitting in our cozy living room wondering what we were going to do for Halloween. We figured it was time to plan a party, we hadn't heard of any going on yet. After lots of so-so suggestions, we finally came up with an idea that had some potential--a costume prom. Since all of us never did the whole prom thing, what could be better?!
So last night our idea came to pass, on the eve of Halloween.

The idea was to make it the prom we never had, which of course involves some dancing. We put some music together, hung some creepy decorations, a disco ball,  costumed ourselves and even got a smoke machine going. We had invited over one hundred people to this event and we were really curious to see who was actually going to come.
The evening started out a little slow. People slowly filed in...not sure what to expect at a Costume Prom. After all, most of us are Adventist and a little handi-cap(able) in the dancing realm. We played some dancing games to get people in the mood. It wasn't too long and people were movin' and groovin' on the dance floor (i.e. our living room floor).
People kept coming in throughout the entire evening. I wasn't sure if I knew some of them or not; we were all in costume! But nonetheless, we danced and jumped and boogy-woogied for several hours.
I think we might consider another dance party in the future. Adventists really can dance; we are all just closet dancers:)
