Summer Lingers

I may be back in class, highlighting and underlining, but summer lingers. In thought, taste and essence summer lives on.

Cool waters, expansive sky, breezy afternoons, billowing cumulus, harvest dust, heirloom tomatoes, zucchini blossoms, fragrant berries, long afternoons, full adventurous days, swift river currents and sandal-tanned feet -- summer leaves a lasting impression.

It's only through the lingering of summer that the excitement of new classes and studies is a welcome challenge. While I'm thankful, excited and somewhat ready to be busy, summer will linger. In thought, taste and essence, summer lives on.

Oh, and I almost forgot one minor detail, I'm living in Southern california where it's summer year around! Ha.
