Kids make everything exciting. Even mundane porridge brought fist thumping, eyebrow raising, squealing joy to my ten- month-old nephew this morning. What’s so exciting about porridge? Only a ten-month old child would know. We, as twenty-something aspiring adults have forgotten the pure joy of porridge in the morning.
Sometimes the hum-drum of life (life-altering decisions, increasing amounts of responsibility etc…) takes away our joy, and this child-like, porridge-inspired excitement is exactly what we really need.
Whether these kids are well-behaved or madly pulling tissues out of the kleenex box (just because it’s fun) they. know. JOY.
So next time you go to grab a kleenex and you want to complain because you can’t breathe through your nose, just pull out a few more than you need. Or, when you sit down to eat your porridge in the morning, just remember that porridge can truly be delightful. Just take a little inspiration from a ten-month old.
